Privacy Policy
Privatai is designed to be private by default. The app stores chats and settings on your device, does not require an account, and does not use hidden cloud processing in its current release.
What Privatai stores
Privatai stores your conversations, app settings, and any downloaded local model files on your device so the app can work as expected.
What Privatai does not require
- No account is required to use the app.
- No background sync is enabled by default.
- No cloud provider is enabled by default.
AI processing
Privatai is built to prefer on-device processing when available. The current product direction is local-first, with cloud use reserved for a later release that would be explicit and opt-in.
If a future version adds optional cloud features, this policy will be updated before those features are made available.
Voice input
Voice input uses Apple speech recognition to turn speech into draft text. Processing availability may vary by device and language.
The feature also requires microphone access on your device so spoken input can be captured for transcription.
Downloaded models
If you choose to download an enhanced local model in the future, those files are stored locally on your device and can affect how much storage the app uses.
Your control
You can clear your chat history from inside the app. Removing the app from your device also removes its locally stored data, subject to how iOS manages app removal and device backups.
